Sand Filter System 5-3786-004

Doughboy part 5-3786-004 is a complete sand filter package: a 23 in. sand filter tank matched to an ESPA SilenPlus variable speed pump, sold as one system under model 5-SILENPLUS 115.

Why buy the pair together

Buying a filter and a pump separately means matching flow rates yourself and hoping the plumbing lines up. A factory package removes that guesswork. The tank and the pump are sized to each other and arrive as one purchase, which is the simplest way to replace a tired filtration setup on an above ground pool.

Variable speed in practice

A variable speed pump does not have to run at full output all day. Most filtering happens at a low speed, where the pump is quieter and gentler on the whole system, and the speed comes up only for vacuuming, backwashing or running an attached feature. Owners who move from a single speed pump usually notice the drop in noise at the pad first.

Before you install

The system ships with manufacturer installation instructions. Have the electrical supply at the pad checked against the pump requirements before the install day, and plan for filter sand at the same time so the tank can be charged and started in one visit.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0801/9568/2516/files/default_ddd7b364-6b39-4c88-a17e-95d964902df5.jpg?v=1788983084
https://www.activepoolsupply.com/products/calimar-above-ground-sand-filter-system-23-filter-1-5-hp-pump
