It is the genuine Sta-Rite element.

Inner and outer

The System 3 is built around a pair of elements, an inner and an outer, working together. This listing is the inner cartridge only, rated at 100 square feet. The outer cartridge is a separate part number, so check which one you actually need before ordering, and be aware that a filter running one new element against one exhausted one will not hold pressure the way a matched pair does.

When to replace

Cartridge elements do not fail dramatically. They lose area gradually as the pleats pack, channel or collapse, and the sign is a filter that climbs back to high pressure sooner after each cleaning than it used to. When cleaning stops buying you much time, the element is done.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0801/9568/2516/files/default_89b9e0a3-3f7d-48b9-9d01-18b02f94d101.jpg?v=1788762158
