Throat, White, 540-8500

The Waterway 540-8500 is the complete Renegade skimmer in the wide mouth body with a 9 in. throat, finished in white. It is a two port skimmer with a square lid, and it ships with a lock-down vacuum plate and an extension collar.

Built for liner pools

The Renegade is made for vinyl liner installations and works with existing steel, polymer and fiberglass pool walls. Waterway rates it at 75 GPM, and the plumbing is sized generously to get there: the 2 in. socket takes a 2-1/2 in. spigot for more flow, the 1-1/2 in. socket takes a 2 in. spigot to make the plumbing easier, and there is a 1/2 in. socket for an overflow hose. All of them are PVC sockets, which glue up cleanly.

Basket and weir

The basket is one of the largest offered on a skimmer and it twist locks into place, so it will not float up when the pump shuts off and it still lifts straight out for emptying. The weir door is spring loaded, which is what makes it quick to fit and quick to swap when it eventually wears.

Options

A float valve and a skimmer test kit are available separately if the installation calls for them.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0801/9568/2516/files/default_49f4017b-2c7e-496d-a456-3601c3d112d1.jpg?v=1788691332
