It is the genuine Hayward replacement and comes assembled.

Where it sits

This is an internal part, down in the base of the filter tank. Reaching it means opening the tank and clearing the media away from the underdrain, so most people replace the sand at the same visit rather than putting old media back over a new part.

Related parts

The lateral hub assembly and the tank bulkhead fitting for this filter are separate Hayward parts.
