A flattened, cracked or shrunken lid O-ring is the usual reason.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eFitting it\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTake the old ring out, clean the groove and the underside of the lid, and set the new one in with a silicone based O-ring lubricant.
