When they wear, water finds its way through and drips out between the pump and the motor, and left long enough it gets into the motor bearings.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eChoosing between PS201 and PS-3868\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ePS201 is the general purpose seal. U.S. Seal does not recommend it for pools or spas running a salt chlorine generator, an ozonator, or a hydrogen peroxide based sanitizer.
