Pool Lift Anchors

10 products

Choose an anchor by the lift model first and the deck second. Each lift fits only its own pattern: Global's C-375 and C-450 take a tri point anchor, the Legend lifts a four point, and the Superior, Proformance and R-450 series a square sleeve. Then the deck picks the version: a new construction anchor is poured in with fresh concrete, drop in and retrofit anchors are set into an existing slab, and a wood deck plate fastens to the framing. Any anchor in a pool deck is bonded to the pool's bonding grid.

About Pool Lift Anchors

A sleeve anchor is a tube in the deck that the lift's mast drops into. Global's square sleeve serves the Superior S-350, Proformance P-375, R-450R and R-450A; its round anchors fit the R-375 and, at 2-3/8 in., the R-350MTR. S.R. Smith's LiftLock sleeve is 2.875 in. across and comes with the Splash! part numbers sold with an anchor.

A tri point anchor holds the lift at three points. Global offers three for the C-375 and C-450: the tri point, the tri point drop in, and a retrofit system with three threaded anchors, nuts, bolts and a T shaped template. The Legend L-325 and L-350 use a four point anchor, either the new construction version cast into concrete or the drop in. Global's wood deck plate fits its Home series lifts. Pavers need a concrete footing under the anchor point, and Aqua Creek makes paver anchors for its spa series lifts.

To reuse an older anchor, Aqua Creek's plastic adapter sleeve seats a Scout, Mighty 400 or Mighty 600 in an existing 2-3/8 in. anchor without new core drilling. Aqua Creek's anchored lifts are sold without the anchor, and each lift's page names the one it takes.

Lifts that need no anchor are on portable lifts. Batteries and chargers and covers are filed by the lift they fit. The parent page is pool lifts.

Questions about Pool Lift Anchors

Which anchor does a Global C-375 or C-450 use?

One of three, all holding the lift at three points: the tri point anchor GLCTPA, the tri point drop in system GLCDIA, or the retrofit system GLCRFA, which comes with three threaded anchors, nuts, bolts and a T shaped template for an existing deck. The portable kit versions of both lifts bolt to the same anchor. Legend, Superior and Rotational lifts use other anchors, so none of these fit them.

Can I reuse the anchor from my old pool lift?

Often, if the sleeve size matches. Aqua Creek's F-824 adapter sleeve seats a Scout, Mighty 400 or Mighty 600 in an existing anchor measuring 2-3/8 in. outside and 1.95 in. inside, with no new core drilling. Global and Aqua Creek both make retrofit parts meant for another manufacturer's anchor. Measure the old sleeve's outside and inside diameter before ordering anything.

How thick does a concrete deck have to be for a pool lift anchor?

Aqua Creek's retrofit instructions call for a slab of 8 in. or more, reinforced with #4 bar on 10 in. centers both ways, a pad at least 60 by 60 in., and a cored hole at least 4 in. wide and 7 in. deep, set in epoxy and left a day to cure. The anchor center sits 12 to 20 in. back from the water's edge. A deck under 6 in. thick needs reinforcing first.

Does a pool lift anchor need to be bonded?

Yes. The anchor is metal set in the pool deck, so the electrical code treats it like any other metal fitting near the water: it is tied to the pool's bonding grid using solid copper wire of at least 8 AWG, through the lug on the anchor. Some places want a licensed electrician to make that connection, so ask the inspector before the concrete work starts.
