Pool Lift Batteries and Chargers

7 products

Match the battery to the lift's control system, not to the voltage. Every pack here is 24 V, yet none crosses brands: S.R. Smith's LiftOperator packs come in an old style for lifts bought before 2011, a new style for later multiLift, PAL, Splash! and aXs lifts, and a BC version that California lifts with the CEC system must use. Global's TiMotion pack serves its Commercial, Legend, Superior, Proformance and Rotational series. An inspector treats a lift with a flat battery as no lift at all, so keep a charged spare.

About Pool Lift Batteries and Chargers

What to expect from a healthy pack: S.R. Smith rates its lifts at roughly 30 to 40 trips on a full charge, fewer with heavier swimmers, up to 12 hours to recharge and two to three years of service. Spectrum quotes about 90 trips at full load, around 4 hours to recharge once the pack is broken in, and replacement after 500 to 800 charges or three to four years. Aqua Creek asks for an overnight charge and treats 24 to 28 V on a meter as a good reading.

Global's charger with its AC adapter serves the TiMotion series lifts. Aqua Creek's 12 V, 10 watt solar panel mounts on lifts built for solar charging and shuts off when the battery is full; the covers that work with it are on covers. Wall chargers belong indoors on an ordinary outlet, in a dry room and away from the deck.

Covers and anchors are filed by the lift they fit. By manufacturer: S.R. Smith, Aqua Creek and Global Pool Products. The parent page is pool lifts.

Questions about Pool Lift Batteries and Chargers

Why does my pool lift run out of battery halfway through the day?

Usually the pack is wearing out or it missed its overnight charge. A healthy S.R. Smith pack gives 30 to 40 trips and a Spectrum pack about 90, so a lift that stops well short of that needs a new battery. Check the contacts as well: corrosion there drains a good pack, and Spectrum asks for dielectric grease on them every week.

Which S.R. Smith battery does my lift take?

Go by the age of the lift and where it is installed. The old style pack, 100-2000, fits PAL, Splash! and aXs lifts bought before 2011. The new style, 1001495, fits later multiLift, PAL, Splash! and aXs lifts. A California lift with the CEC compliant system takes the BC version, and its battery, charger and control box do not swap with standard parts, so read the serial plate before ordering.

Can I leave a pool lift battery on the charger all the time?

Yes. S.R. Smith says its packs cannot be overcharged and should be charged every day, and Aqua Creek tells owners to keep the battery on the wall charger whenever it is off the lift. What shortens a battery is the opposite, letting it run flat. Spectrum's packs have an off switch that holds a charge for about three months in storage.

Can a pool lift battery be charged with a solar panel?

On Aqua Creek lifts built for it, yes. The F-SLR is a 12 V, 10 watt panel that mounts on the lift, keeps the battery topped up and shuts itself off when the pack is full. Aqua Creek is the only North American manufacturer with solar compatible lifts, so S.R. Smith, Global and Spectrum packs still go on a wall charger indoors.
