Which cover do I need?

Order by your pool's size, not the cover's. The cover is cut 3 or 4 ft wider than the pool so it drapes over the top rail, and a cable and winch through its grommets holds it on.

Above ground winter cover questions

What size winter cover do I need for an above ground pool?

Order by the size of the pool, not the cover. A cover for a 24 ft round pool is cut 27 or 28 ft across so it drapes over the top rail. Every cover here is listed by the pool size it fits.

What is the difference between the pool size and the cover size?

The cover size includes the overlap: 3 or 4 ft wider than the pool, depending on the brand. The extra hangs over the top rail, where the cable and winch hold it.

Should I buy a solid or a mesh winter cover?

A solid cover keeps out sunlight and fine dirt, so the pool opens cleaner, but you pump rain and snowmelt off it. A mesh cover drains itself, with more cleanup in spring.

Do I need an air pillow under the cover?

On an above ground pool, yes. It sits under the center of the cover and takes the push of the ice off the walls. A 4 x 8 ft pillow suits most round pools from 18 to 24 ft; each size page names the pillow for that pool.

How is an above ground winter cover held on?

A steel cable runs through the grommets around the edge and a winch tightens it under the top rail. Cover clips add hold on windy yards.

What comes in a winter cover bundle?

The cover, a chemical closing kit for 15,000 or 35,000 gallons, and an air pillow. Each bundle title lists all three.
