Quick overview

Sized for a 24 ft. round pool The cover itself measures 28 ft. round, which gives 4 ft. of overlap all the way around.
Triple laminated polyethylene Blue and black material at 5 mil thickness, with heat sealed seams for strength.
Reinforced edge A polypropylene cord is sewn into the edge and aluminum grommets are spaced every three feet.
Winch and cable included Supplied with a deluxe aluminum cable winch and a vinyl coated steel lock down cable.
10 year warranty Carried under the PoolTux Royal 10 year warranty.
Solid, not mesh Water sits on top of a solid cover instead of draining through, so plan on a cover pump to keep it clear.

Product details

This is the PoolTux Royal solid winter cover for a 24 ft. round above ground pool. The cover measures 28 ft. round, so it carries 4 ft. of overlap, and it is backed by the Royal 10 year warranty.

How it is made

The material is a blue and black triple laminated polyethylene at 5 mil, with heat sealed seams. The edge has a polypropylene cord sewn into it for reinforcement, and aluminum grommets sit every three feet around the perimeter for the cable to pass through.

What comes in the box

A deluxe aluminum cable winch and a vinyl coated steel lock down cable are included, so the cover can be drawn tight around the top rail without buying hardware separately.

Solid versus mesh

A solid cover keeps rain, leaf litter and everything else out of the water rather than filtering it through. That is the point of it, and it also means water pools on the surface over the winter. A cover pump takes that weight off the cover, keeps the overlap where it belongs and makes the spring opening far less unpleasant.

Closing the pool this fall?

For a 24 ft round pool: a 4 x 8 ft air pillow and the Pool Season 15K closing kit.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What size pool does this cover fit?

A 24 ft. round above ground pool. The cover itself is 28 ft. round, giving 4 ft. of overlap.

What comes with the cover?

A deluxe aluminum cable winch and a vinyl coated steel lock down cable.

How thick is the material?

5 mil, in a blue and black triple laminated polyethylene with heat sealed seams.

Do I need a cover pump with it?

A solid cover holds water rather than letting it through, so rain and snow melt collect on top. A cover pump keeps that load off the cover and off the pool.
