Product details

This is the PoolTux Royal solid winter cover for an 18' round above ground pool. The cover measures 22' round, and the extra four feet is deliberate: it is the overlap that lets the cable pull the cover down tight against the pool wall instead of leaving it sitting loose on the water.

The material

It is a solid cover, 5 mil blue and black triple laminated polyethylene, with heat sealed seams. Solid means light and debris stay out of the water rather than passing through, which is the point of closing a pool for the season.

Edge and hardware

A polypropylene cord is sewn into the hem and aluminum grommets are spaced every three feet, so the load from the cable is spread around the whole edge. A deluxe aluminum cable winch and a vinyl coated steel lock down cable are in the box, along with the warranty card for the 10 year Royal warranty.

My pool is 18' round. Why is the cover 22'?

The extra four feet is the overlap. The cover has to reach past the top rail all the way around so the cable and winch can draw it tight against the pool wall.

Does it come with a winch and cable?

Yes. A deluxe aluminum cable winch and a vinyl coated steel lock down cable are included, along with the warranty card.

Is this a mesh cover?

No. It is a solid cover, 5 mil blue and black triple laminated polyethylene with heat sealed seams.
