This is the PoolTux King solid winter cover cut for a 20'x40' rectangle inground pool. The cover itself is 25'x45', so it lays over the pool with 5 ft of overlap in total to anchor against.
Solid, so nothing gets in
A solid cover is a barrier rather than a filter. The 8 mil triple laminated polyethylene blocks sunlight, which is what keeps algae from working through the winter, and it keeps leaves, dirt and rain out of the water instead of straining them. The panel is silver on one side and black on the other, and the seams are heat sealed rather than stitched, which is where a winter cover usually starts to fail.
Anchoring the cover
The edge is unbound. Water tubes lay in the overlap around the perimeter to hold the cover in place, and they are sold separately from the cover itself.
