The PoolTux 12122651I is a solid rectangle winter cover from the King series, cut for a 20 foot by 45 foot rectangular pool and carrying a 15 year warranty.

Why the cover measures larger

The pool is 20 by 45, and the cover panel is 26 by 51. That is not a mistake. The extra three feet on every side is the overlap that lies flat on the deck and takes the weight that holds everything in place. A cover cut to the exact pool size would pull into the water the first time it caught wind.

Solid rather than mesh

A solid cover blocks light as well as debris. Sunlight is what feeds algae over the months the pump is off, so a pool closed under a solid cover generally opens far closer to clear than one under mesh. The trade is that water collects on top of a solid cover and needs to be pumped off through the season.

Holding it down

PoolTux lists 18 eight foot water tubes for a cover this size. They are bought separately, and they matter more than people expect, since a cover that lifts in a storm is the usual reason a winter cover fails early.
