Quick overview

  • Sized for an 18'x40' pool The cover itself measures 23'x41', which is the overlap you need to weight it down all the way around.
  • Solid, not mesh A solid cover blocks light and keeps rain and debris out of the water instead of filtering it through.
  • 14 x 14 scrim A commercial grade scrim count, which is what carries the load when snow and water sit on the cover.
  • Heavy coating The Ultra Premium line uses the heaviest coating in the range, the layer that decides how long the fabric lasts.
  • Bound edges The perimeter is bound with commercial grade material and thread, which is where cheap covers tear first.
  • 25 year warranty The longest term PoolTux puts on a winter cover.

Product details

This is the PoolTux Ultra Premium solid winter cover cut for an 18'x40' rectangle inground pool. The cover itself measures 23'x41', giving the overlap needed to run the edge up onto the deck and hold it with water tubes or anchors.

What Ultra Premium buys you

Three things separate this from a budget cover. The scrim count is 14 x 14, so there are more woven threads carrying the weight of snow and standing water. The coating is the heaviest in the range, and coating thickness is what decides how many seasons the fabric survives before it goes brittle. The edges are bound with commercial grade material and thread, which matters because a winter cover almost always fails at the perimeter first, where the grommets and the wind work on it.

Solid means you need a cover pump

A solid cover blocks sunlight, which keeps algae down over the winter, and it keeps rain and debris out of the pool entirely. The trade is that water collects on top of it. Standing water is heavy and it is what tears covers, so a cover pump left on the cover through the wet months is not optional. The warranty runs 25 years.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

What size pool is this for?
An 18'x40' rectangle. The cover itself is cut to 23'x41' so there is material to run up the deck and take water tubes or anchors.
Is this a solid cover or a mesh cover?
Solid. It keeps rain, snow melt and debris out of the pool rather than letting water pass through, so plan on a cover pump to clear standing water.
What does the 14 x 14 scrim count mean?
The scrim is the woven grid inside the fabric. A higher count means more threads carrying the weight, which is what stops a loaded cover from stretching or splitting.
How long is the warranty?
25 years, which is the top of the PoolTux range.
