This is the PoolTux Emperor solid winter cover for a 25'x45' rectangle inground pool. The cover panel itself measures 30'x50', so it lands on the deck with a 5 ft overlap on every side once the pool is closed.
How it is built
The material is 8 mil black on tan triple laminated polyethylene. Seams are heat sealed instead of stitched, and the edge carries a sewn in polypropylene reinforcement, which is the part of a winter cover that normally fails first. Aluminum grommets sit in each corner, and 2 in by 12 in water tube loops are spaced every four feet around the perimeter.
Solid, not mesh
A solid cover blocks light and debris rather than letting water drain through, so the pool stays cleaner over the winter and algae has nothing to work with. The trade off is standing water on top, which is normally handled with a cover pump.
