This is the PoolTux King solid winter cover for an 18 by 36 foot rectangular inground pool. The cover itself measures 21 by 41 feet, which is what gives the 5 foot overlap needed to run water tubes around the perimeter and hold it down through the season.
How it is built
It is an 8 mil triple laminated polyethylene cover, silver on the top face and black underneath, with heat sealed seams. The edge is unbound. Being a solid cover, it blocks light and keeps leaves, dirt and rain out of the water entirely, which is the difference between opening to clear water in spring and opening to a green pool.
What else you need
Water tubes are what anchor a solid cover on an inground pool, and they are not supplied with it. Because rain and snowmelt collect on top rather than draining through, most owners also run a cover pump over the winter so the weight does not pull the cover into the pool.
