Product details

This is the PoolTux King solid winter cover for an 18 by 36 foot rectangular inground pool. The cover itself measures 21 by 41 feet, which is what gives the 5 foot overlap needed to run water tubes around the perimeter and hold it down through the season.

How it is built

It is an 8 mil triple laminated polyethylene cover, silver on the top face and black underneath, with heat sealed seams. The edge is unbound. Being a solid cover, it blocks light and keeps leaves, dirt and rain out of the water entirely, which is the difference between opening to clear water in spring and opening to a green pool.

What else you need

Water tubes are what anchor a solid cover on an inground pool, and they are not supplied with it. Because rain and snowmelt collect on top rather than draining through, most owners also run a cover pump over the winter so the weight does not pull the cover into the pool.

Why is the cover bigger than my pool?
Because it has to reach past the edge and be anchored. An 18 by 36 foot pool takes a 21 by 41 foot cover, which leaves 5 feet of overlap all the way around.
What holds it down?
Water tubes laid around the perimeter. They are not included with the cover and are ordered separately.
Will it let rainwater through?
No. This is a solid cover, so water sits on top of it. That is why most owners run a cover pump through the winter to keep the load off.
How long is the warranty?
15 years, which is the King level in the PoolTux range. Shorter and longer warranty covers in the same size are sold as their own items.
