Product details

The PoolTux BB1220R is an Ultra Premium solid winter cover for a 12'x20' rectangular pool. The cover itself is cut to 17'x25', which is the panel size once the overlap needed to hold it down on the deck is added in.

What Ultra Premium means here

The scrim, the woven layer inside the cover that carries the load, is a commercial grade 14 by 14 count. The coating over it is the heaviest offered on this cover line, and the edges are bound with commercial grade material and thread rather than left as a raw hem, which is normally where a winter cover gives out first.

Solid, not mesh

A solid cover blocks sunlight and keeps rain, leaves and other debris out of the water completely rather than filtering it through, which is what keeps a pool cleaner at opening. The trade off is that water collects on top over the winter, so a cover pump is the usual way to keep it from building up.

Sizing and warranty

Order this cover by the size of the pool, not by the cover's own dimensions. It is backed by a 25 year warranty, the longest offered on this line.

Questions and answers

What people ask about this product, answered by our pool techs.

Why is the cover bigger than my pool?
A 12'x20' pool takes a 17'x25' cover. The extra material is the overlap that lies on the deck once the cover is in place.
Is this a solid cover or a mesh cover?
Solid. It blocks sunlight and debris entirely rather than letting water and fine dirt pass through the way a mesh cover does.
What makes it Ultra Premium?
A commercial grade 14 by 14 scrim count, the heaviest coating offered on this cover line, and edges bound with commercial grade material and thread.
What does the warranty cover?
It carries a 25 year warranty, the longest term offered on this cover line.
