The PoolTux Royal 7720AGBLB is a solid winter cover for 16' round above ground pools. The cover itself measures 19' round, which leaves a three foot overlap past the wall so it can be drawn down tight.
How it is built
The material is 5 mil blue and black triple laminated polyethylene with heat sealed seams. A polypropylene cord is sewn into the edge to reinforce the perimeter, and aluminum grommets are set every three feet so the cable load is shared rather than concentrated at a few points. Those three details are what separate a cover that survives several winters from one that tears out at the edge in the first storm.
Solid coverage
Being solid rather than mesh, it blocks sunlight completely and keeps leaves, dirt and rain out of the pool. That means cleaner water at opening, and it also means water collects on top of the cover, so a cover pump belongs in the plan.
