Product details

This bundle closes a 15' round above ground pool in one order: the solid winter cover, the hardware that holds it down, the chemistry for the water and the pillow that goes underneath.

The cover

The cover is 19' round, giving 4 ft of overlap on a 15' pool. It is 5 mil triple laminated polyethylene, blue on black, with heat sealed seams. The edge carries a sewn in polypropylene cord for reinforcement and aluminum grommets spaced every three feet, and the cover is backed by a 10 year warranty. A deluxe aluminum cable winch and a vinyl coated steel lock down cable are included to draw it tight.

The chemistry and the pillow

A 15k chemical closing kit is included, sized for the water volume, so the pool goes under cover already treated rather than sitting untreated through the cold months. The 4' x 4' air pillow floats under the cover and absorbs the expansion when the surface freezes, which is what keeps ice pressure off the pool wall.

Closing the pool

Work in order: balance and treat the water, set the pillow in the middle of the pool, then draw the cover over it and run the cable through the grommets before tightening at the winch. A cover pulled evenly and kept tight sheds weather far better than one cinched down at a few points.
