Is a generic T-Cell-15 as good as the Hayward one?

It carries the same rating and plugs into the same power center, and that is as far as a listing can honestly go. Each replacement here states up to 40,000 gallons, the figure on the original, and names the T-Cell-15 as the cell it replaces. Where they differ on paper is in what the maker stands behind: one CaliMar cell puts a two year warranty in its title, where the original's warranty row reads one year. Nobody publishes a side by side life test, so judge by the rating, the warranty and the system list rather than the badge.

What is the difference between the two CaliMar T-Cell-15 cells?

The warranty, the cord and the systems each is written for. The part number ending 2Y carries a two year warranty and a 15 ft cord and is described as plug and play with no plumbing changes. The one ending 1Y has a row saying it is for systems built before 2009. Both name AquaRite, AquaLogic and ProLogic and both are 40,000 gallon cells. So the build date of your power center is the thing to check before picking between them.

Does a T-Cell-15 work with AquaLogic and ProLogic?

The original lists AquaRite inground models and Aqua Logic chlorination kits, along with every NatureSoft system, Mineral Springs MS-10 and MS-11 only, and SplashCLEAR SP-40 only. The CaliMar replacements add ProLogic by name to AquaRite and AquaLogic. If yours is a Mineral Springs or SplashCLEAR unit, read the model number on it first, because the original is specific about which of those it suits.
