The S.R. Smith Olympian 66-209-3163 is a 16 ft aluminum diving board in Marine Blue with a white non-slip tread. S.R. Smith builds the Olympian for heavy duty use at commercial and residential pools.

Construction

The board is an aluminum beam extrusion, epoxied and welded, with welded ends and a powder coated finish. It mounts with a 2-hole pattern and is rated for a maximum of 250 lb. The Olympian is also made in 10, 12 and 14 ft lengths and in Radiant White; this listing is the 16 ft Marine Blue board.

Stand and setup

S.R. Smith pairs 14 and 16 ft boards, including this one, with its Deluxe 1 meter and 3 meter towers. For a 16 ft board the fulcrum is set at 86 in., with a tolerance of 6 in. either way. The board must sit level across the fulcrum and heel supports with rubber fulcrum and mounting pads in place, and S.R. Smith requires a new fulcrum pad whenever a board is replaced. If the existing hardware is worn, the S.R. Smith mounting kit for 14 and 16 ft commercial boards is 67-209-904-SS.

Before you order

A diving board has to suit the pool it goes on. The water envelope must meet the ANSI/APSP/ICC standard that applies to the pool, residential or public, along with any stricter local rules, and the installation must follow S.R. Smith's instructions. The board ships by freight.

Which stand does a 16 ft Olympian fit?
In S.R. Smith's commercial line, the Deluxe 1 meter and 3 meter towers take 14 and 16 ft boards and both list the Olympian. The Steel Meter, Econoline and 2/3 meter stands are listed for shorter Olympian boards, so confirm your stand before ordering.
Is the tread blue or white?
White. S.R. Smith supplies its commercial boards with a white tread; a matching tread is ordered by adding a T to the end of the part number.
What is the weight limit?
250 lb. That is the limit S.R. Smith sets for its commercial boards, with the Frontier IV the only exception.
What else is needed when I replace a board?
A new fulcrum pad. S.R. Smith says a replaced board must get a new fulcrum pad or the warranty is void. Set the fulcrum at 86 in. for a 16 ft board, within 6 in. either way, keep the board level across the fulcrum and heel supports, and install the rubber mounting pads.
