Above Ground and Spa Pool Lifts

13 products

Measure the wall first: the height from the deck or pad the lift stands on to the top of the pool wall or spa lip. Up to about 20 in., Aqua Creek's Power EZ 2 reaches over with a helper; from 19 to 48 in., Global's R-450A and S.R. Smith's Splash! Hi/Lo and Splash! Spa cover it; past 48 in. and up to 68 in., only Aqua Creek's Neptune and Nebula reach. Then decide who runs it: the Neptune, R-450A and Splash! models work alone from the water, while the Nebula and Power EZ 2 need a second person.

About Above Ground and Spa Pool Lifts

These lifts stand beside the pool or spa and swing the seat up and over the wall, so the anchor goes into whatever the lift stands on, never into the pool. Aqua Creek's spa series anchors for the Neptune and Nebula come in concrete, wood deck and paver versions; Global's R-450A is sold with its sleeve anchor or without it; the Splash! Hi/Lo and Splash! Spa here include theirs. The Extended Reach Hi/Lo pairs the raised wall reach with a longer arm, and the PAL2 Hi/Lo is the portable version for raised walls. Spectrum's Gallatin WP 400 serves pools and spas on water pressure, with no battery at all.

Lifts for a flat in ground deck are on commercial ADA lifts and home pool lifts; lifts that move are on portable lifts. Spare batteries and chargers, covers and anchors are filed by the lift they fit. The parent page is pool lifts.

Questions about Above Ground and Spa Pool Lifts

What lift fits an above ground pool with a 52 inch wall?

At 52 in., the lifts that stop at 48 in. are too short, so the choice is Aqua Creek's Neptune or Nebula, which clear walls from 21 to 68 in. The Neptune is rated for a swimmer to run alone and the Nebula is made for use with a helper. Both carry 400 lb, turn a full circle and need a spa series anchor in concrete, a wood deck or pavers beside the pool.

Can a hot tub lift be mounted on a wood deck?

Yes, with the anchor made for it. Aqua Creek sells a wood deck version of its spa series anchor for the Neptune and Nebula, next to the concrete and paver versions. The anchor fastens through to the deck framing, so have whoever built the deck confirm the joists at that spot can carry the lift, the swimmer and the twisting load as the seat swings out.

Does a spa lift need a footrest to meet the ADA?

No. The 2010 ADA Standards want a footrest that moves with the seat on a pool lift but waive it on a lift that serves a spa. The rest still applies: at least 300 lb of capacity, a seat at least 16 in. wide and controls the swimmer works alone. The Neptune has a pull out leg rest anyway, and the Splash! Spa is S.R. Smith's spa version of the Splash!.

Is there a spa lift that runs without a battery?

Spectrum's Gallatin WP 400 runs on water pressure and serves both pools and spas. Water fed into the lift raises the seat, so there is nothing to charge or swap during open hours. It is rated at 400 lb with 55 psi of supply and uses about 5 gallons a minute, and its anchor, preset for new concrete or retrofit for an existing deck, is bought separately.
