Pump Parts & Motors

1 product

Start with the label on the pump, not its horsepower. The model number printed there decides which impeller, diffuser and shaft seal it takes, and two pumps of the same size can need different ones. Twelve common pump families have a page of their own with the manufacturer's numbered drawing, and every part here for those pumps sits at its key. A replacement motor is a separate choice, made by frame and horsepower on the motors page.

About Pump Parts & Motors

Replacement parts and motors for pool pumps, more than 1,100 in all: about 950 parts and 210 motors. The parts run from impellers, diffusers and shaft seals to strainer baskets, lids, O-rings, housings, unions and capacitors. Most of the motors are Century, with others from Pentair, Hayward, Emerson and Nidec. More than 400 are the pump manufacturer's own parts.

Parts by pump, each with the manufacturer's numbered drawing: Hayward Super Pump, Super II, TriStar and Power-Flo LX, II and Matrix; Pentair WhisperFlo, IntelliFlo, SuperFlo, Challenger and Dynamo; the Sta-Rite Max-E-Pro; the Jandy Stealth; and the Polaris PB4-60 booster pump. Motors alone are on pool pump motors, the parts without the motors are on pump parts, and whole pumps are on pool pumps.

Two Pool School guides go with pump parts and motors: how to prime a pool pump, for the first start after a lid, O-ring, seal or motor change, and motor or whole pump, with the manufacturers' tests to run before you buy a motor.

Questions about Pump Parts & Motors

Where do I find the model number on my pool pump?

On the label on the motor or the pump body, and it reads differently by manufacturer. Hayward prints a number such as SP2607X10; a W3 in front of it is only Hayward's online prefix. A Pentair WhisperFlo reads WF, WFE, WFK or WFDS and a size. A Challenger says High Flow or High Pressure with a rating such as 1F. A Sta-Rite Max-E-Pro has a full number such as P6E6E-206L, and a Jandy Stealth starts SHPF or SHPM. Each parts by pump page explains its own label.

Which pool pumps have a parts diagram here?

Twelve families, on thirteen drawings taken from the manufacturers' own manuals and parts sheets: Hayward's Super Pump, Super II, TriStar, Power-Flo LX and II, and Power-Flo Matrix; Pentair's WhisperFlo, IntelliFlo, SuperFlo, Challenger and Dynamo; the Sta-Rite Max-E-Pro; the Jandy Stealth; and the Polaris PB4-60 booster pump. Each drawing has numbered keys with the parts carried at each one, and most let you pick the model on your label to see only its parts.

Which pump parts are the same on different pumps?

Only the ones a manufacturer prints on more than one of its drawings. Pentair's SuperFlo and Challenger High Flow share five impellers, 355043 to 355093. The WhisperFlo and IntelliFlo share the 070387 basket and the 357151 clear lid with its 357199 clamp, and the 350013 lid O-ring is on the WhisperFlo, IntelliFlo and Challenger drawings. Shaft seals cross over too, within each manufacturer: the pump parts page lists them by family. Nothing here is said to fit across brands.

How do I know an aftermarket pump part fits my pump?

Match it by the manufacturer's part number it replaces, not by the picture. More than 400 of the parts here are the pump manufacturer's own. An aftermarket part appears on a parts by pump page only when its title names that manufacturer and pump family, and on the drawing it sits at the key of the number it replaces, marked generic. Kits are never placed by part number alone, so check a kit's contents against your pump.
