The Unicel C-7468 is a 115 square foot replacement filter cartridge measuring 7 in. outside diameter by 27 in. long. It fits the Jandy CL 460 cartridge filter.
Why filter area matters
The square footage rating is the amount of media the water has to pass through. Run a filter with a collapsed or clogged element and the pump works against a restriction all day: pressure climbs, flow at the returns drops, and heaters and cleaners that depend on flow start to complain.
Cleaning and replacement
Rinse the pleats out on a regular schedule and soak the element when oils and scale build up. When a full cleaning no longer brings the pressure back to where it started, or the pleats are torn, matted or leaning over, the cartridge is finished and a new one is the fix.
Unicel builds an 85 square foot and a 145 square foot element for the smaller and larger filters in the same family, so check the size stamped on your old cartridge before ordering.
