Product details

The Poolstyle WTB-1005 is a 1 ft by 10 ft double water tube in 16 gauge. It is the weight that holds a winter cover down along the edge of the pool.

Why double

A double tube has two chambers instead of one. When a single chamber tube splits it empties and stops doing anything, and the cover lifts at that point. With two chambers, one failure leaves the other still holding water and still holding the cover.

Filling and placing

Fill the tube where it is going to sit, because a full 10 ft tube is awkward to carry. Leave room at the top rather than filling it solid, since water expands as it freezes and a tube filled to capacity is the one that splits. Lay the tubes end to end around the pool so wind cannot find an edge to get under.

How big is this tube?
1 ft by 10 ft, in 16 gauge.
What does double mean?
It has two chambers side by side rather than one. If one chamber splits, the other still holds water and the tube keeps its weight on the cover.
How full should I fill it?
Not completely. A tube filled to bursting has nowhere to go when the water in it freezes and expands, which is how tubes split over winter.
Where do the tubes go?
Along the edge of the cover, end to end around the pool, so wind cannot get underneath and lift it.
