The Poolguard Super Gizzmo MKW-6554 is a 16 inch winterizing plug for pool skimmers, made with tapered pipe threads sized for both 1-1/2 inch and 2 inch fittings, in teal.

What it does

The plug threads into a skimmer line before winter to close it off for the season. Because it comes with two thread sizes built in, the same plug fits either a 1-1/2 inch or a 2 inch tapered pipe opening, which covers most residential skimmer lines without needing a second part number on hand.

Freeze protection

The Gizzmo design is built to absorb the expansion that happens as water freezes in a skimmer line, rather than simply blocking the opening, which helps take pressure off the plumbing during a hard freeze and lowers the odds of a cracked skimmer line.
