Quick overview
- Sized for 1-1/2 inch Fits 1.5 inch lines and fittings, the common size for return and skimmer plumbing.
- Nylon wing nut Nylon does not corrode or seize the way a metal wing nut can after a winter in the ground.
- Expansion seal Tightening the wing nut squeezes the plug so it swells against the fitting and seals the line.
- Hand tight The wing nut is turned by hand, so no tool is needed at closing or opening.
- Freeze protection Sealed lines keep water out of plumbing that could otherwise freeze and split.
- Reusable season to season Plugs are stored and reused, and are replaced when the rubber hardens or the nut strips.

Product details
The Anderson 145N is a 1-1/2 inch winterizing plug with a nylon wing nut, used to seal pool lines when the pool is closed for the season.
How it works
The plug drops into the fitting and the wing nut is turned by hand. That draws the plug body together so it expands sideways and grips the inside of the fitting, sealing the line. Nothing but hand pressure is needed, and nothing has to be cut or glued.
Why the nylon nut
Winter plugs sit in wet fittings for months. A metal wing nut can corrode and seize, and then the plug has to be fought out at opening. A nylon wing nut turns freely in spring, which is the reason this version exists. Plugs are reusable, so keep them with the winter cover hardware and replace any whose rubber has hardened or whose nut no longer tightens.
