Product details

The CMP 25543-000-000 is a 1-1/2 inch threaded winterizing plug supplied with its o-ring. It threads into a standard pool or spa return jet and closes the line off for the off season.

Two jobs, one plug

Most owners buy it for closing. The plug goes into the return jets when the pool comes down for winter, and the o-ring seals it against the fitting. The same 1-1/2 inch male threaded design also replaces the Hayward® filter drain plug SP1022C, so it doubles as a service part on the filter.

Fit and material

It is listed as fitting most standard return jets on both above ground and in ground pools, and as compatible with the major equipment brands including Hayward®, Pentair, Jandy and Waterway. The material is chosen for cold weather, so the plug is not meant to shrink or slip once the temperature drops. Check that your fitting is a 1-1/2 inch thread before ordering.

Where does this plug go?
