The Super-Pro 25525-000-000 is a two inch plug supplied with its o-ring, in white.
How it seals
The seal is made by the o-ring against the face of the fitting, not by the threads. That means the plug goes in until the o-ring seats and then stops. There is no need for thread tape or sealant, and there is a real reason not to crank it down: the extra turn does nothing for the seal and is how fittings end up cracked.
Keep one on hand
Plugs are small, they get taken out at the start of the season and they do not always come back. Having the right one in the box beats improvising on the day, and a plug with a perished o-ring is worth replacing rather than persuading.
