Product details

The CMP 25542-007-000 is a flat pool plug in dark gray with a 1.5 inch male pipe thread, supplied with its gasket.

Where it is used

Threaded plugs close off returns, jets and lines that are open the rest of the year. The most common use is winterizing, where every line has to be sealed once it is blown out, but they also cap a fitting that is out of service.

Flat style

A flat plug seats close to the fitting rather than standing out from the wall, which suits returns where anything protruding gets caught or kicked. The dark gray finish blends with dark colored fittings.

Fitting it

Thread it in against the gasket and stop when it is snug. Plastic threaded plugs seal on the gasket, not on brute force, and over-tightening is the usual way a fitting ends up cracked.

What does MPT mean?
Male pipe thread. The plug has the threads on the outside and screws into a female threaded fitting of the same size.
Does the gasket come with it?

Do I need thread sealant as well?
