Product details

The S.R. Smith 2HR-5-049 is a five foot 2 bend stair rail in stainless steel, made from .049 inch wall tube.

The 2 bend profile

A 2 bend rail is the standard shape at pool steps and stair entries, with two bends in the tube that carry it from the deck anchor down over the step. S.R. Smith makes them in a range of lengths so a rail can be matched to almost any pool, and the five foot version covers a common step and deck arrangement.

Material and wall thickness

Stainless steel handles the wet, chlorinated environment a pool rail lives in. The .049 inch figure is the wall thickness of the tube, and S.R. Smith builds rails in more than one thickness, so check which one your installation or local code calls for before ordering.

Finish

S.R. Smith notes that these rails can also be powder coated for additional protection, which is worth considering in salt systems or coastal air.
