Pleatco PA120 is the 120 square foot replacement filter cartridge for the Hayward Star Clear Plus C1200. It measures 8-15/16 inches across and 23-1/4 inches long, with a 4 inch hole at the top and the bottom.
The media
The fabric is Pleatco Advanced Point Bonded filtration material at 4 ounces per square yard. Point bonding holds the pleats at a consistent spacing so water passes through the whole surface rather than channeling down a few collapsed folds, which is what decides whether you get the full 120 square feet or a fraction of it.
When to change it
Pressure creeping 8 to 10 PSI above the clean reading means it is time to clean the cartridge. When cleaning no longer drops the pressure back, or the pleats are matted, torn or pulling away from the end caps, the element is finished and the filter is passing dirt it should be catching.
