Product details

The Boxer Adhesives vinyl liner repair kit, part number 110, is a 4 oz. tube of adhesive for patching vinyl swimming pool liners. Its defining property is that it works underwater, so a tear does not force you to drop the water level or empty the pool to reach it.

Why underwater matters

Most liner damage shows up below the water line, on a wall seam, near a step, or where something sharp was dropped in. Dropping the level far enough to work dry costs water, time and a refill, and on an above ground pool a partly empty liner can shift and wrinkle. An adhesive that cures wet lets the repair happen in place, the same day the tear is spotted.

Working with it

Clean the area around the tear before you start, cut the patch larger than the damage with rounded corners so no edge can lift, and press it down firmly from the middle outward to push water out from under it. A small tear grows under water pressure, so a tube kept in the maintenance kit is worth more than one ordered after the fact.
