Aqua Creek Ranger 2 Pool Lift Parts

Start with the battery, because on a Ranger 2 almost every call that sounds like a dead lift is a flat or corroded F-004AB pack: a good one reads 24 to 28 volts and gives at least fifteen cycles unloaded. The drawing is Aqua Creek's own exploded view, badged with its internal part numbers, and the parts sold here carry the F catalog numbers instead: the F-494DAA actuator, F-044CH charger, F-40CBJV control box, the Pro Series covers and the anchors the manual lists for this lift.

About Aqua Creek Ranger 2 Pool Lift Parts

The drawing is the product components view from Aqua Creek's Ranger 2 owner's manual, badged at the manufacturer's item numbers. Aqua Creek keys its lists by internal inventory numbers rather than catalog numbers, so each badge shows that number for reference and the parts sold here are listed below the drawing under their F catalog numbers. The stock box, item 1, holds the battery, charger, grease and anti seize packets, the ADA sign and the seat belt and is not drawn.

Sold here for this lift: the F-004AB 24 V battery and the F-044CH charger, the F-494DAA 400 mm actuator in the pull configuration the manual calls non rotational, the F-40CBJV control box for the Vito version, the F-38SB seat belt, the F-UBC battery and control box cover, the F-45ACB-C actuator sock and the F-120PPC Pro Series lift covers in blue, gray, tan and premium blue. The F-SLR solar panel keeps a battery topped up on a lift that stays outside. Of the four anchors the manual names, the F-04CAJP four point kit and the F-40220-AT1 wood deck kit are here.

The Ranger 2 is a low profile lift that does not rotate: the user sits parallel to the pool edge and rides a single out and down motion into the water. The control arm and seat cradle can be moved to the other side of the base in the field by spinning the actuator housing half a turn, which the manual walks through with a video. Whether it clears your gutter and deck is covered in which pool lift fits your pool.

Before replacing anything, charge the battery overnight and read it with a meter. A beep from the pack is its low charge alarm. If it reads above 24 volts and the lift still does nothing, check the charger output at its prongs, then reseat every cord in the control box ports and clean the tabs. Aqua Creek's test light, F-01TL, plugs into the control box on the actuator's port to prove the box and remote before an actuator is blamed. The pool lift battery and maintenance guide covers the routine.

Spare batteries and chargers, covers and anchors are filed on their own pages. The other Aqua Creek drawing is the Scout Excel; the S.R. Smith drawings are PAL2, Splash!, aXs2 and multiLift2. The lifts themselves are on Aqua Creek pool lifts, and the parent page is Pool lift parts.

Questions about Aqua Creek Ranger 2 Pool Lift Parts

Why does my Ranger 2 beep and refuse to move?

The beep comes from the battery and means its charge has dropped below the level that runs the lift. Charge it overnight and read it with a voltmeter across the two prongs: a good pack shows 24 to 28 volts. A pack that reads full but still cannot run the lift can be short on amperage, which a battery shop checks with an 8 amp load test. If the pack is fine, check that the charger puts out at least 27 volts at its prongs and that the cords are seated in the control box.

Which anchor does an Aqua Creek Ranger 2 use?

The manual lists four: the F-04CAJP standard anchor, the F-0461AB-AT1 quick attach anchor, the F-08CAJP 8 in. anchor and the F-40220-AT1 wood deck anchor. All are sold separately from the lift and must be in the deck before the lift goes together. Which one depends on the deck: concrete takes the standard or 8 in. version, a timber deck takes the wood deck kit.

Can the seat side of a Ranger 2 be switched?

Yes. Aqua Creek calls it field reversal. The control arm and seat cradle come off the lifting arm and base, the lower actuator bolt comes out so the actuator housing can be turned 180 degrees, and the arm and cradle go back on the opposite side with the same shoulder bolt, button head bolt, washers and nylock nuts. The manual asks for assembly lube on every bolt and warns against over tightening.

Is the Ranger 2 actuator the same as other Aqua Creek lifts?

The part sold here, the F-494DAA 400 mm Linak actuator in the pull configuration, is listed for the Admiral, Pathfinder, Ranger 2 and Spa Series lifts. The Ranger 2 manual calls its own kit the non rotational version, because this lift does not turn, and pairs it with a two button remote rather than the four button handset the rotating lifts use. Match the plug and the remote to your control box before ordering.

How often should the Ranger 2 electronics be replaced?

Aqua Creek's inspection sheet recommends replacing the actuator and the other electronic components after five years of service, based on its service life records, and asks owners to check component serial numbers against purchase records. The warranty follows the same curve: electrical parts are covered in full for two years, then at a falling share through year five, with the rest of the lift covered for five years.
