What does EC- at the start of a Pentair pump's part number mean?
It marks Pentair's e-commerce line. Pentair reserves products that begin with EC- for online sales, and its warranty terms give an EC- part number, and anything bought online, one year of coverage on parts only. Several of the SuperFlo, WhisperFlo and IntelliFlo pumps here carry the prefix, so the EC- number is the one printed on the pump and the one to give Pentair.
Are Sta-Rite pool pumps made by Pentair?
Yes. Sta-Rite is a Pentair brand, and its pumps are listed here under Pentair, among them the SuperMax VS, the Max-E-Pro and a CSP Series cast iron commercial pump. Parts for the Max-E-Pro, Dura-Glas and SuperMax share one page, Sta-Rite Max-E-Pro pump parts, because those pumps take many of the same seals, baskets and lids.
Which Pentair pumps are built for commercial pools?
The EQ Series and Sta-Rite's CSP Series. EQ pumps run from 5 to 15 HP: the EQ-500 and EQ-750 are single phase, other EQ models are wired for 208-230 or 460 volt three phase, and the largest here is the 15 HP EQK1500. The CSP pump listed is a 7.5 HP three phase cast iron model sold without a strainer. Any of them needs a supply sized by an electrician.
Which parts fit both a Pentair WhisperFlo and an IntelliFlo?
Much of the wet end. Pentair sells one volute housing kit and one seal kit for both pumps, and at 3 HP the same impeller and diffuser assembly. The lid clamp, the seal plate bolts and nuts, and baskets from several manufacturers are listed for both as well. The motor and drive are what differ, since the IntelliFlo's are variable speed.
Which Pentair pumps are for above ground pools?
The Dynamo and the OptiFlo. Every other Pentair series on this page, from SuperFlo to the commercial EQ, is an inground pump. Above ground pumps from every manufacturer, Hayward's Power-Flo and Waterway's Hi-Flo among them, are gathered on the above ground pool pumps page.
