Product details
The S.R. Smith UF-18-101-MG is an 18 in. U-style diving frame in .049 in. marine grade. It is the stand only; the diving board is sold separately.
Why a U-frame
The U-frame is the simplest diving stand there is, which is exactly why it has stayed popular. There are no moving jump mechanisms to maintain and no adjustment to get wrong, and it costs less than the elaborate stands. For a first time diving board owner it is the sensible starting point.
Marine grade
This version is built to the .049 in. marine grade specification rather than the standard frame. Pool decks are a hard environment for metal, between the chlorine, the sun and the constant wet and dry cycling, so the heavier grade is worth having on a fixture that is bolted down for years.
Before you order
Choose a diving board rated for an 18 in. U-frame stand, and check your local pool code for the diving envelope required at the deep end. The frame anchors to the deck, so the mounting has to be laid out before the board goes on.
