Product details

The S.R. Smith SLF-24S-3B is a 24 in. Snap-Lok pool ladder with three elite stainless steel treads on a Type 304 stainless steel frame. Its hinge lets the ladder be raised and lowered, so it can share the pool with an automatic cover.

Why Snap-Lok

An automatic cover needs a clear run across the water, and a fixed ladder is in the way. The Snap-Lok gets around that with a special hinge bracket: raise the ladder before closing the cover and lower it again when it is time to swim.

Construction

The frame is 1.90 in. OD tubing with a .049 in. wall and 4 in. radius bends. S.R. Smith offers the Snap-Lok with heavy duty plastic or elite stainless steel treads, and this model has the stainless. Rubber bumpers fitted to the ends protect a vinyl liner where the ladder rests against the wall.

Installation and grade

The ladder posts lock onto Snap-Lok anchor bases, S.R. Smith part 60-713, which install in the deck anchor sockets and tighten down with the anchor bolt and wedge. This listing is Type 304 stainless. For a saltwater pool, S.R. Smith builds the Snap-Lok in 316L marine grade, ordered by adding -MG to the part number.

How does it work with an automatic pool cover?
The Snap-Lok uses a special hinge bracket, so the ladder can be raised out of the way before the cover runs and lowered back into place for swimming.
Is it suitable for a saltwater pool?
This is the Type 304 stainless model. S.R. Smith also makes the Snap-Lok in 316L marine grade stainless, ordered by adding -MG to the part number, and marine grade is the better match for salt water.
How does it attach to the deck?
