The lock is the point
An above ground pool is only as secure as the way into it. With the outside treads swung up and padlocked, there is no ladder to climb, which is what makes a swing-up frame worth having over a fixed one. The rest of the ladder is built to the same idea: an anti-entrapment barrier so a swimmer cannot get in behind it, 18 inch by 4 inch anti-slip treads, and an extra large anti-slip platform at the top.
Setting it up
The ladder fills with water for ballast, so there is no sand or brick to buy and carry. Assembly uses minimal hardware, and the height adjusts within the 48 to 56 inch range. It meets the current ANSI/APSP standards and carries a 300 lb maximum weight limit.
Before you order
Ocean Blue ladders are not for use with soft-sided pools. If you later want it inside the pool rather than over the wall, an optional conversion kit turns it into an in-pool ladder.
