Product details

The Ocean Blue 125010 is a deep bag leaf rake with an aluminum frame and handle. It attaches to a standard size telescopic pole and is meant for lifting leaves out of the pool rather than just skimming the surface.

Why a deep bag

A shallow skimmer net fills in a few passes and then starts pushing debris around instead of collecting it. The deep mesh bag on this rake holds a much bigger load, which is what you want during leaf fall or after a storm. It also lets you work the rake down to the floor and lift settled leaves out in one pass.

Built for pool water

The frame and handle are aluminum, light enough to control at the end of an extended pole and immune to rust. The mesh is chemical resistant so it does not go brittle in chlorinated water. There are no sharp corners or edges on the frame, which keeps it from marking the pool walls as you work along them.

What is included

The rake head only. It fits any standard size telescopic pole, so add a pole if you do not already have one at the pool.

Does a pole come with it?
No. The rake attaches to a telescopic pole and is sold on its own, so you will need a standard size pole to use it.
Will it scratch the pool surface?
It is built without sharp corners or edges for that reason. Still work the rake along the surface and walls rather than dragging the frame hard against them.
How is this different from a flat skimmer net?
The bag is deep. A flat net skims the surface and fills quickly, while a deep bag holds a much larger load and can be worked down to the floor to lift settled leaves.
Will the net survive pool chemicals?
The mesh is chemical resistant, which is what keeps it from going brittle in chlorinated water the way household netting does.
