Why the rim and the bag shape matter

A soft rim folds back the moment the bag has any weight in it, which is what turns leaf collecting into leaf herding. The hard PVC rim on this rake holds its mouth open, and the wide scoop gives the leaves somewhere to go so you are not emptying after every pass. The aluminum handle keeps the whole thing light at the end of a long pole, which matters more than it sounds when you are working the far side of the pool.

A note on surfaces
