Product details

The Pentair 542090 Sand Vac is a tool for removing sand from a pool sand filter. Changing filter media or replacing a cracked lateral means emptying the tank first, and that is slow, wet work with a cup. The Sand Vac is built for that job.

When you need it

Filter sand wears smooth and channels over time and eventually has to be replaced. Laterals at the bottom of the tank can crack and let sand into the pool, and reaching them means clearing every bit of sand above. Either job goes faster with a tool made to pull sand out.

What is a sand vac for?
Getting the old sand out of a sand filter tank. Filter sand needs changing every few years, and the tank has to be emptied to replace a broken lateral.
Does it work on any brand of sand filter?
It is a sand removal tool, not a fitted part, so it is not tied to one brand of filter.
Does it come with a hose or pump?
