The Pentair SuperFlo VS EC-342001 is a 2.2 THP variable speed pump for in-ground pools, which Pentair sells to replace a 1.5 HP pump. Pentair rates it at up to 80 percent energy savings against a single speed pump, because most of the day it can turn slowly for filtration instead of running flat out.

Onboard control

Speeds are set on the pump's own control panel, three programmable speeds plus Quick Clean, so no separate drive or controller is needed. The wiring compartment has low voltage digital inputs, 18 to 30 V AC or 9 to 30 V DC.
