The CaliMar CaliFlow is a variable speed inground pool pump rated 1 HP at 230V, part number CMARCFVSP2010. Thick-walled body parts, a heavy duty TEFC motor and engineered hydraulics make it a fit for pools, spas, water features and fountains.
Where the savings come from
The permanent magnet motor turns anywhere between 450 and 3450 RPM. Filtration at low speed draws a fraction of the power full speed does, which is what earns the 7.5 WEF rating and the listing under the ENERGY STAR 2.0 specifications. The same design runs quieter and with less vibration than an induction motor, so the pad is easier to live next to.
Built to last on the pad
Body components are molded from corrosion-proof reinforced thermoplastic. The motor is totally enclosed and fan-cooled with a NEMA Type 3 environmental rating, the shaft is stainless steel, and the American designed mechanical seal runs carbon against ceramic. A large strainer basket sits under a see-through lid that stays clear and locks with a quarter turn.
Plumbing it in
The threaded port size is 2 inches, and reducer fittings are included so the pump adapts to 1.5 in or 2.0 in threaded plumbing. Removable feet let you take up a height difference between the new pump and the old mounting, so a retrofit does not have to mean recutting pipe.
