Pentair Genuine OEM High Flow Manual Air Relief Valve

This is the genuine Pentair high flow manual air relief valve assembly, part number 98209800, complete with the pressure gauge. It is the valve on top of the tank that you open to bleed air after a cartridge change or a restart, and the gauge next to it that tells you when the filter needs cleaning.

Where it fits

Pentair lists it for the Clean and Clear, Clean and Clear Plus, FNS Plus and Quad DE filters and the EasyClean above-ground DE system. It also fits the American Products Eclipse side mount, Titan CM DE, Quantum CM, Quantum stainless steel, Quantum RPM and Predator filters, as well as American Products separation tanks. Pentair refers to it as the HFMARV, the High Flow Manual Air Relief Valve.

When to replace it

A gauge that reads zero with the pump running or sticks at one number, a valve that weeps when closed, or a cracked body are all reasons to swap the assembly. Because the gauge and valve come together, one kit restores both at once and the filter goes back to reading and bleeding correctly.
