The Pentair 270100Z is the valve adapter kit for Quad D.E., FNS Plus and Clean & Clear Plus filters, a black 2 in by 2.5 in slip bulkhead set.
What it adapts
These filter tanks come with a 2.5 in bulkhead, while a great many pool systems are plumbed in 2 in pipe. This kit bridges that difference so the filter ties into the existing pipe run without reworking the plumbing on either side of it.
Slip fittings
The connection is slip, so the pipe gets primed and solvent welded into the fitting. That is a permanent joint, which means measuring and dry fitting before cement goes anywhere near it.
