The Pentair IntelliFloXF is the high capacity variable speed and flow pump in the IntelliFlo line, rated 3.95 THP and wired for 230V. Part 022056.

Variable speed and flow

Rather than running at a single fixed speed, the IntelliFloXF can be set to hold a speed or a flow rate. Daily filtration runs low and quiet, and higher speeds are there for heaters, cleaners and water features when they are called for.

Built for larger systems

The XF is Pentair's larger frame IntelliFlo, made for inground pools that need more flow than the standard model provides.

What flow range can the IntelliFloXF VSF hold?
20 to 140 GPM in flow mode, by Pentair's guide: set a flow and the pump adjusts its own speed to keep it as conditions change. In speed mode it runs from 450 to 3,450 RPM, with presets of 750, 1,500, 2,350 and 3,110 RPM and up to eight programs.
How is the IntelliFloXF VSF different from the IntelliFlo VS+SVRS?
Both are 3.95 THP pumps on 230 V, but the XF moves more water: about 175 GPM at 50 feet of head at full speed against about 148 for the VS+SVRS, by Pentair's curves. The XF can also hold a set flow and slows to 450 RPM, where the VS+SVRS stops at 1,100. Only the VS+SVRS has a built-in safety vacuum release.
Is the flow reading on an IntelliFloXF VSF exact?
Pentair does not claim it is. Its guide says the displayed flow has not been tested against the NSF/ANSI/CAN 50 requirements for flow meters. The pump works the figure out from its sensorless flow control, so where a code calls for a flow meter, the display has not been tested as one.
Does the IntelliFloXF VSF have SVRS?
No. Pentair's guide says the IntelliFloXF VSF does not provide SVRS entrapment protection. An IntelliTouch control on firmware 1.170 or earlier lists it as VSF+SVRS on the pump selection screen, and Pentair says to choose that option anyway; the pump still has no safety vacuum release.
