Hayward TriStar VS 950 Variable Speed Pool Pump, 2.7 HP 115V-230V

The Hayward TriStar VS 950 is a 2.7 HP variable speed pump for inground pools, wired for 115V or 230V. It is built to replace most high performance pumps up to 3 HP and is ENERGY STAR certified, which qualifies it for rebates from many local utilities.

What the 950 adds

Over the earlier TriStar VS, this model carries a chemical resistant Viton shaft seal and a 1 year warranty. The motor is a permanent magnet, totally enclosed fan cooled design, the platform behind the efficiency of the whole Hayward VS line. Run at a low speed for daily filtration, the pump can cut energy cost by up to 90 percent against a single speed unit.

Control and automation

The digital control pad is fully programmable and rotates to four positions on the pump, or comes off and mounts on a wall where it is easier to read. The pump runs stand alone, ties into Hayward automation including OmniLogic, or takes commands from other control systems through relay control.

Regulation

Since July 18, 2021 inground pool pumps sold in the US must meet a Department of Energy weighted energy factor (WEF) minimum. WEF works like miles per gallon: higher is more efficient. The TriStar VS 950 already meets the standard.
