⌄The Hayward SPX0714L is the top cover o-ring for the SP0714T Vari-Flo XL multiport valve, the 1.5 in. top mount valve on Hayward sand filters. It measures 6 in. outside diameter, 5 5/8 in. inside diameter and 3/16 in. thick.
What it fixes
When water weeps from the seam between the valve cover and the body, under the handle, this o-ring has usually flattened, cracked or been pinched. It is a small part, and it is worth replacing any time the cover is off for a diverter gasket, spring or handle repair.
Installing it
Clean the groove, apply a thin film of silicone based o-ring lubricant, seat the ring and tighten the cover screws evenly. If the leak is between the valve and the filter tank rather than at the cover, the larger tank o-ring is the part you need.
