Product details

The Hayward SP0714T Vari-Flo XL is the top mount multiport valve on Hayward's Pro Series sand filters, sold here as the complete kit: the valve itself, the tank o-ring, a side mount pressure gauge and the two piece clamp that holds it to the tank. It is the genuine Hayward part and the current replacement for the older SP-711-13.

Seven positions on one lever

Filter for everyday running, Backwash to flush the sand bed, Rinse to resettle it, Waste to send water around the filter for lowering the pool or vacuuming heavy debris, Recirculate to move water without filtering, Closed, and Winter for laying the system up. A built in sight glass shows the backwash water running clear, so you know when to switch to rinse rather than guessing.

Built for years on a pad

The body and cover are ABS, the spring is heavy duty stainless steel and the valve seat is heavy duty rubber. The self cleaning design keeps the diverter from clogging or sticking between uses.

Before you order

Ports are 1.5 in. threaded on an 8 in. flange. That matches the S164T, S166T, S180T, S190T, S210T, S220T, S244T and S245T. Filters plumbed in 2 in., including the S310T and S310T2, take the SP071620T instead. Everything for the swap is in the box, so no separate o-ring or clamp order is needed.

Will it fit my Hayward sand filter?
It fits the Pro Series S164T, S166T, S180T, S190T, S210T, S220T, S244T and S245T, all of which use an 8 in. top mount flange and 1.5 in. plumbing. Filters plumbed in 2 in., such as the S310T and S310T2, take the 2 in. SP071620T instead.
My old valve is an SP-711-13. Is this the replacement?
Yes. The SP0714T Vari-Flo XL is Hayward's current replacement for the SP-711-13.
What comes in the box?
The SP0714TX valve, a GMX600F tank o-ring, a side mount pressure gauge and the GMX600NM two piece clamp that holds the valve to the tank.
What do the seven positions do?
Filter is normal operation. Backwash reverses flow to flush the sand bed to waste. Rinse resettles the bed after a backwash. Waste sends water to the waste port around the filter, for lowering the pool or vacuuming heavy debris. Recirculate returns water to the pool without filtering. Closed stops all flow. Winter relieves the valve for winterizing.
