Product details

The Hayward SPX0710XZ3 is the cover o-ring for the 1-1/2 in. Vari-Flo multiport valve. It seals the valve cover to the body and fits covers made from 1976 to current, on the SP0710X, SP0711 and SP0712 valves.

Size

5-1/2 in. inside diameter, 1/8 in. thick. This is the genuine Hayward part.

If the cover is coming off to replace this o-ring, it is a good time to inspect the spider gasket underneath as well. Both seals age at about the same rate, and doing them together saves a second teardown.

Which valve is this o-ring for?
The Hayward 1-1/2 in. Vari-Flo multiport valve, models SP0710X, SP0711 and SP0712, covers made from 1976 to the present.
What size is it?
5-1/2 in. inside diameter with a 1/8 in. cross section.
What does it seal?
The joint between the valve cover and the valve body. Water weeping from under the cover screws is the usual sign it has flattened.
Should I use lubricant on it?
A light coat of silicone o-ring lubricant helps it seat and slows drying out. Do not use petroleum based grease on o-rings.
